Sisata Open Air Theatre - The Tempest

During this project I collaborated with fellow designers to produce co-ordinated, location specific inspired costumes that also reflected the themes of the play - The Tempest. Throughout this process and as part of a team, I pitched concept ideas to producers, developed ideas through techniques such as draping on the stand, took on the role of green ambassador and ensured that my team were maintaining sustainable practices in their work, meanwhile actively looking for solutions such as eco bricks to combat any waste that was unavoidable. I also constructed the garment I designed, broke it down and embellished it to fit the themes of the play. I used techniques such as screen printing, and shibori with effective visual results. Overall this project was extremely fun and I enjoyed having the opportunity to work with a great group of people, experiment, design, make the final garment and see it in action.
